It was my goal to capture all of the trends we see everyday in action as people were walking to class. Those ten photos show the most common trends and how Auburn students tend to follow those trends. I realized that one can not only see things trending by sitting on a bench and people- watching, but you also see how diversity reflects through what people choose to wear on a day-to-day basis.
- This is the perfect example of how people throw on a scarf to pull together an entire outfit. what would normally look like a pullover with leggings is now a complete outfit. Scarves, in my opinion, are the most common trend seen on Auburn’s campus.
- This is the “long shirt with leggings” look. A good pair of boots makes this otherwise comfy, lounging outfit look cute and presentable enough to wear to class.
- A big trend for the past year or two has been flannel shirts. It is interesting to me that these shirts are not being used as some form of a jacket. I have seen countless people walking around in jeans or leggings with a flannel shirt unbuttoned over a regular t-shirt.
- The classic brown boot is a staple in almost anyone’s wardrobe, even men. Yes, they may be different styles than women’s boots, but i feel safe to say that close to everyone has some form of a brown boot.
- We all know about my fascination with rain boots, and these are the newest style of them that many people are getting. These are unique because they are the same exact style for men and women. While making my way through the concourse, I saw at least 20 pairs of these boots.
- Neon, neon, neon. That’s the trend with tennis shoes this season. The concourse was brightened with hundreds of neon feet moving about.
- Neon is not a trend in shoes alone, but also in sportswear and other clothing. Nike has especially taken this fad an ran with it.
- I couldn’t help but notice the abundance of Patagonia backpacks I saw on famous. They come in a variety of colors from neons to blackened white. The style that everyone has is the one with the drawstring back
- It is always refreshing to me to see something that isn’t a trend, but has been put together to reflect one’s own style. The reds in this outfit really pop with the cheetah print in the leggings. This is proof that a cute outfit doesn’t always come from following trends.
- With a university of 24,000 students, there are many trends and not-so-trendy styles to be observed. You can learn a lot just by watching people as they walk by. I venture to say that walking through a cluster of at least 10 students on the concourse will reveal several trends.
